Chili Cook Off (Call For Posts)
Being a Midwestern boy come this time of year my mind instantly starts to turn to chili. It is the perfect comfort food for cold and snowy nights. Also, if you are a fellow reader you probably are already aware of my addiction to chili peppers and most importantly spicy food.
I am also curious about how everyone prepares their chili so without further pointless rambling I am making a call for posts on chili. Any type of chili will be accepted from beans, vegetarian, Texas red, all meat, or anything your heart can think of.
Oh yeah to sweeten the Dutch oven I am going to randomly draw a number and corresponding submission number will get a 30 dollar gift certificate to Penzy Spice company (http://www.penzeys.com/) to help add to a chili/spice collection.
All I ask is that:
- The post be made between November 25th and December 28th
- E-mail me at jshively@gmail.com the following information:
- Subject of the e-mail should be “Chili Cook Off”
- Your name
- Name of your blog
- Permalink to your post
- Your location
- Picture no larger than 150 pixels
- Being the nice guy I am feel free to submit more than one post
- Your post should contain an entry back to this post so word can spread (http://www.culinarydisaster.com/wordpress/01/chili-cook-off-call-for-posts/)
Any questions please do not hesitate to e-mail me or post a comment and since this is the first time I have ever attempted something like this any tips would be greatly appreciated.
I am also working on a logo for this event but well let us face it I can’t even draw stick figures properly.

Woo hoo! Chili cook off! Can’t wait to see the results–count me in on this one.
And I’m so in for a deformed stick figure logo.
Oooh I’d love to try to make something for this (haha we have the opposite weather here so it’s getting really hot) but no matter. Hopefully I will have a chance-thanks for hosting!
Very nice blog, excellent content. Thanks!
Okay so, every year I host a chili cookoff and I’ve won it several years, I have never given away my chili recipe…hmmmm….hmmmm….but dang this sounds like so much fun!

Great idea, Jeff! I sent over an email with my submission.
Count me in!
Is reposting a previousl chili recipe with the contest information acceptable?
Libby,
Yes that will be acceptable.
Saw your call for chili recipes on Ismyblogburning, where I posted a Chili Cook-Off Challenge last month. I host a monthly Chili Cook-Off at my Foods and Flavors of San Antonio blog.
I’ll send you a chili recipe — do you want a tame one or one that will knock your socks off?
